The example given in each video was very helpful in understanding how things work on the internet.

Overall experience was great as it was basically about basics and introduction to web development.

Honestly, pretty solid course. A lot of people were saying this course isn't for beginners but I would strongly disagree. I think the difficulty is FAIR, and really gets your brain thinking logically.

This course went over all of the basics of HTML/CSS and leaves you without any questions of how websites are constructed and made. Regardless if you have 0 experience with HTML/CSS, you can pick up all of these concepts very easily with the way the instructors introduce and explain everything.

As an Introduction to Front-end it is a good one. It just needs more exercises that arn't as hand held that can be graded. Maybe not graded but that can give you a design and you attempt to recreate the design yourself with what they've taught so far at which point you can assess yourself.

Fantastic introduction into HTML/CSS. Provides the skills to recognize different components when looking at web source code, and is a great foundation for the next steps in learning web development.

The course is good but a little rough around the edges. More lab work could be good for those that have no programming experience and refreshers for those with years of experience. The week 2, final lab has an error in the grading process that is overly frustrating and needs to be reviewed for corrections. Beyond that, it's very straight forward and hopefully helps anyone new to programming attain the knowledge they're looking for to being a Front-End Developer!

This comes from someone who has been coding in non-web environments for almost a decade, so the course was easy to knock out in a week. However, there are some obvious flaws in the teaching which added to the frustration, and minimized what I got from the course.

The course content relies heavily on these well-produced videos, with an imperfect transcript. When you're going through a test or exercise, and need to reference code syntax, that means you have to scrub through the videos to find where they're showing an IDE on screen. That's incredibly frustrating as a learner, or it would be if not for the other issue here. Assignments don't evaluate your ability to understand HTML or CSS, they evaluate your ability to follow the step-by-step instructions given. In many of the labs the instructions are exceptionally detailed, telling me what to type in. A better evaluation would ask for what behavior they want on the page, and provide the ability to reference how to get there.

Quite possibly a fine foundation for a brand new coder, but if you've got any familiarity at all with how computers work, you can probably get as good or better by referencing StackOverflow and the Boostrap docs.

For a beginner it will be difficult to master the course, a very superficial learning process. This course is more suitable for those who want to test their previous knowledge.

possibly the worse online course ive ever taken. everything feels scripted and one sentence summaries. the parts i already knew were barely ok to follow along with. new material, like bootstrap, was a nightmare. i had to go on udemy and look at a normal teacher explain it where the student understanding is the goal... not doing the bare minimum and spending 20% of the lesson saying "now you know how to do xyz." im really hoping this is not what the rest of meta courses are like. again, this was the most painful "learn coding" experience ive had. and the part about coding for disabled access... lol, what a joke. their recommendation is to format your code nicely. they are more concerned about how they look than students actually learning.

Haven't checked language so you go down the wrong path when it comes to marking. Code marking system has issues so when you submit code that is correct system says it is not so you get stuck. This was at the early classes, not going to go further when the code gets harder. Really only moved from pluralsight cause of the Meta name on the course but will go back to there system

A beginner-friendly course. Apart from how to code and create a website using CSS, HTML, Bootstrap library and grid, it also teaches a lot about the working mechanism behind the web with a clear description but not those hard-to-understand terms. Learnt a lot!
