About the Course

This course introduces the basics of Python 3, including conditional execution and iteration as control structures, and strings and lists as data structures. You'll program an on-screen Turtle to draw pretty pictures. You'll also learn to draw reference diagrams as a way to reason about program executions, which will help to build up your debugging skills. The course has no prerequisites. It will cover Chapters 1-9 of the textbook "Fundamentals of Python Programming," which is the accompanying text (optional and free) for this course. The course is for you if you're a newcomer to Python programming, if you need a refresher on Python basics, or if you may have had some exposure to Python programming but want a more in-depth exposition and vocabulary for describing and reasoning about programs. This is the first of five courses in the Python 3 Programming Specialization....

The course is very interactive and helps you learn by practicing the code in code lens which I found very helpful for my understanding. But the mobile application of the Coursera needs some work, it lacks the freedom to learn while one is mobile and without the laptop.

The course is very well structured and I think it could be very helpful for absolute beginners in Python. Personally I've found it quite boring since I start programming 3 years ago but it's a good way to learn well the Python sintax: "Ripetita Juvant"

The teaching sequence is slightly off. Some execrises were not quite solvable until we complete some chapters in later session of the course. Also I would like to have the model answer as there were some questions that I did not answered 100% correct.

Has awesome studying tools. However, video explanation is not as good or enough for the studying tool I guess. Studying tools are just enough for continuing the course, and the video did not help that much to make it easier to understand the course.

Overall this is an excellent introduction to Python. My only criticism is that it uses "scribbling on a screen" to present the information. There has to be a better way of illustrating points other than watching someone try to write using a mouse.

The lectures are good and helps to understand the concepts well. But if you are already familiar with basic concepts then It might be a little boring, still there is a strong chance you can learn some new concepts and understand the basics better

In General it was great, the only thing I didn't like was the fact that you evaluated some topics in the final project, that we barely studied. And I had to look for information somewhere else. But besides that it was really good. Thank you!

Really great resources for learning and practicing concepts. Each week had a lot of content, which I did feel was overwhelming. I didn't finish in 4 weeks as a working professional, but I was able to complete the course on my own schedule.

The course is simple to understand, the textbook used is interactive and allow for easier understanding of concepts. If there is anything to add on, it would be that it take quite a time commitment to finish up each week learning scope.

The classes were really great and the teaching methodology as well as the interactive textbook helped a lot. I missed a few deadlines as I had some college work to focus on, so that was a bummer but I really enjoyed doing this course.

Muy buen curso, te enseñan todo lo que te prometen y los profesores son muy buenos. No le doy las 5 estrellas ya que aunque en Coursera digan que tiene subtitulos en Español, los tiene pero están mal las traducciones.

I feel if there were more problems like the ones in the last week's graded assignment that would have helped more in making information stick to ones mind and would help me learn more as practicing is very important

this is a great course , the concepts are well explained and the experience is astonishing , but i think that you should improve the authentication single sing on because it keeps reminding me everytime to log in .

i think having more practice questions would be helpful. the tests were difficult because it asked questions for which information was not given or just mentioned in passing. But I learned a lot in this course.

good course for python absolute beginners but for programming and computer science newbies it might not be the best choice as it's so high level and doesn't go that deep into the core concepts of programming

I found some of the problems were not taught in the course and I had to learn a little bit extra from the course to solve the problems.Overall the course was very interactive and it was very fun to learn.

I really enjoyed this course, but it was really easy for me because I've got basis in other languages, like C. In this course there are not only Python Basics, but also programming basics in general.

Overall a good course but not as thorough as I'd hoped. I do not consider myself as understanding Python3 very well but it's a good introductory course to learning what code is and how it runs.

Good course, very good step by step approach for noobies ;). The only thing lacking is some more practical stuff and collaboration. So more focus on real world cases, and applying knowledge.

The lecture delivery should be improved. But the course content was more than good. It is a good course for those who have completed the first three of python for everybody specialization.

Very good overall. There are some rough edges in the course textbook and layout. E.g. the material feels unevenly spaced in the four weeks. But I still feel I gained a lot from the course.

Excellent course! Learned some good stuff even though I've taken several other Python courses before. One of the best introductory courses I've seen for beginners. You'll learn the basics.
