Passion in a bottle. This video pulls together the whole first lesson of this module. What I want to say is, what I have learned about public speaking, overall, is that you want to communicate your main compelling point with passion. And because of this, I don't really favors scripts, or slide decks, or memorized talks. I don't really favor aids of any kind. Because, I think they get in the way of communicating passion. If you memorize, all you have left is the script that you're stuck with. If you internalize, if you really internalize the concepts, you become more dynamic, and you can communicate in the moment. This brings us back to that Raymond Chandler passage in Trouble is My Business. Chandler's point is that, all the tips and tricks, they take us away from that original state of innocence, that animal gusto that made us want to communicate. It's that, that animal gusto, [LAUGH] that's human, and that's what you want to bring to your audience. Even if it appears a little bit silly, even if it appears a little bit naive, you want to be in a position where you can communicate human spontaneity to another human being. That's the point. Now, passion comes in all different forms. Some people have fiery passion, some people have intense passion, others have a cold, thoughtful passion. Some people's passion is quiet, but all of us have passion inside of us. And it's communicating that passion, that is what convinces others. So I urge you to think about one compelling point, because you can drive one compelling point. I urge you to think about your key words and to internalize them, because it's not so much the words you speak, but the belief that you communicate around those words. And by looking inside of yourself, rehearsing and reverse outlining, you can meld the content you need to communicate with your own unique human passion. You can merge those two and communicate them outwards. And that is successful public speaking. So I say, you have the ability to speak to the world without fear. Because if you learn the words that you need to speak, you can drive them with your passion. So I say that you have it within you. You have it within you to deliver, it is inside of you, reach in and find it, because successful presentation is the public performance of the pride itself.
